The University of Kashmir has officially launched its online counselling process to fill vacant seats across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2026 academic session. This phase follows the conclusion of the primary counselling rounds and provides a final opportunity for prospective students to secure admission into their preferred courses.
The Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations (DACE) is managing the process, which covers vacancies under open merit, self-finance, and reserved categories. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the official university portal to review the available seat distribution and complete the necessary formalities within the specified timeframe.
The online counselling portal for these vacant seats became active on August 31, 2026. Candidates seeking admission under the General, Self-Finance, or NRI quota must access the official website at kashmiruniversity.net to participate. The university has set a firm deadline for this process, with the online choice-filling window scheduled to close at 10:00 PM on September 2, 2026.
University officials have emphasised the importance of adhering to this schedule. Participation in this round is mandatory for those wishing to be considered for the remaining seats. The university has clearly stated that candidates who fail to register or lock their preferences during this window will forfeit their admission opportunity, regardless of their academic merit or entrance test scores. Future merit selection lists will be compiled strictly based on the data submitted by candidates during this online session.
