As digital interactions increasingly influence user decisions, the integration of User Experience (UX) design with persuasive strategies is reshaping the way people engage with technology. Acknowledging the growing demand for expertise at this intersection of design and psychology, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has opened admissions for the second cohort of its Advanced Certification Programme in Persuasive UX Strategy. Designed to equip learners with essential tools, the programme focuses on enabling participants to develop innovative digital interfaces that effectively capture user interest and guide their behavior.
The rising need for high-quality UX design continues to be fueled by India’s expanding digital and e-commerce landscape. With the UX services market projected to grow from USD 3.5 billion in 2023 to an estimated USD 32.95 billion by 2030 at an impressive CAGR of 37.8%, businesses are making significant investments in engaging interfaces to secure user attention. The rapid growth of India’s e-commerce sector, expected to reach $325 billion by 2030, alongside the anticipated doubling of digital payments to $7 trillion within the same timeframe, highlights the crucial role of UX in shaping consumer behavior and driving business expansion.
Emphasizing the significance of this initiative, Professor Jyoti Kumar, Head of the Department of Design at IIT Delhi, stated that the programme is designed to bridge the gap between technology and human psychology, equipping learners with the ability to create both functional and transformative designs. Participants are expected to gain an in-depth understanding of user behavior, enabling them to craft interfaces that not only capture attention but also foster meaningful interactions. The programme is structured to provide market-relevant skills, ensuring that learners are well-prepared to meet the increasing industry demand for strategic UX professionals.
Spanning six months, the intensive programme offers over 240 hours of blended learning, integrating business acumen with creative design thinking. Participants will be trained in psychological persuasion techniques, data-driven UX optimization strategies, and real-world applications. The curriculum prioritizes hands-on learning, incorporating capstone projects and expertise with industry-standard tools such as Figma, Maze, iMotions, Nvivo, and Optimal Workshop.
Comprising 20 carefully designed modules, the course covers a wide range of topics, including Usability, UX and CX, the Role of UX in Product and Service Design, Developing UX Strategies from Research Data, Designing Interfaces with Persuasive Strategies, Measuring UX Strategy ROI, Cultural and Legal Considerations in UX, UX Processes for AR/VR and MR, and Advanced UX Testing Methods using Eye Trackers, EEG, and GSR. The programme is specifically tailored for professionals aspiring to excel in roles such as UX Strategist, UX Designer, Product Designer, UX Researcher, and Content Strategist.
Conducted through live interactive sessions in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) format, the programme also incorporates a campus immersion experience at IIT Delhi, ranging from two to five days, offering participants first-hand exposure to the institution’s cutting-edge research environment. In addition to expert guest lectures and practical assignments aimed at building a strong portfolio, participants will receive a prestigious Completion Certificate from IIT Delhi, reinforcing their expertise in persuasive UX strategy.
