The Ministry of Education’s DASA scheme will provide opportunities for foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and Overseas Citizen of India to ensure admission to Indian Technical Institutions. Since 2001, the scheme has offered international students entry to premium Institutes like the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPASs), and other centrally funded technical institutions.
Apply for the DASA scheme 
Beginning, the applicants must register online through the DASA portal, complete the application form, and pay the required fee through the payment options available. The candidates must ensure, they fill it before the specified deadline. The applicants must upload their documents online through the portal for being considered for admission.
Eligibility Criteria
In case of Undergrad courses, applicants must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by the Indian Universities Association. They must have students in Maths and Physics and one subject from Chemistry, Biotech, CS, or Biology. And lastly securing at least 75 percent aggregate and a valid JEE Main rank is mandatory.
For post-grad, the applicants must have completed a four or five-year undergrad-related program such as engineering, technology, or an equivalent field like MTech or M.Arch. In case of MBA programs, any undergraduate degree recognized by a statutory body is acceptable. The applicants must at least score a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks. Moreover, a valid GRE or GMAT score is needed.
Counselling process
The seat allocation is based on the JEE Main rank and the candidate’s preference list for UG admissions while for PG courses, GRE and GMAT scores along with the applicant’s choice is considered.
In 2024, NIT supervised the DASA scheme, the registration began in June and the process concluded in August. For more information, the candidates are advised to visit the official DASA website.
